Spiderwick Chronicles

Has anyone seen this show?? Holden has been dying to see it. Since they were off school today my mom came over and we took them. I "think" it was good, it was very odd. I haven't read the book, but the movie has me intrigued, and may just have to read it.

Yes even MORE pictures of skiing

On President's day the boys went skiing at Brighton Ski Resort. Since we don't have much going on right now besides daily life, I thought I would post pictures from that.

I HAD to add a picture of my sweet angel as well

A Precious Life

I became aware of the Mack family earlier this week from my friend Jenny. I have been following the amazing journey their family has experienced this past week. Their son Kaden was born last Friday. Before he was born they knew he would have a cleft palate and also thought he had hydrocephalus. When he was born, the MRI proved otherwise. His brain had not formed and neither had his eyes. They have kept him alive on life support this past week to let everyone who needs to come see him come and bask in his spirit. They plan to take him off life support and return back to his Heavenly Father today. This family has handled this amazing well and have been a great example to me, I would only hope I could be so strong. If you have a minute take a look at their blog and see their beautiful Kaden, oh and grab a kleenex.

My Sweet Valentine

It was a pretty crazy day around our house. It had snowed quite bit the night before. Tyler took Holden to school as he usually does and he called and asked if they had school because no one was around. He went into the school and they said school was delayed 2 hours! So he came home while I was snow blowing the driveway and played in the snow. Caleb's school was also delayed so I just took him because they were having a "dance." These kinds of things freak Caleb out so he wasn't very happy during it. I didn't get pictures of Holden at school but he came home so excited to show me all his goods. Tyler had to go to a meeting up in Heber at 6, so he came home about 7:30 and we went and got dessert at Dairy Queen.

One of Holden's favorite things to do

Calebs Favorite Past Times

Figuring out how to get as close to his TV as possible

Finding our bedroom door open always gives him a thrill, so he can bang it until we come and ruin the fun

Has finally discovered all the cupboards open and bang shut just as loudly as the bedroom door

Using Tylers chair as a jungle gym

DISCLAIMER: For those of you who don't know us well must wonder why this kid is always in pajamas. Caleb is the ultimate diaper digger, he can outdig them all if given the chance. I have cleaned up enough poop off the furniture to last me a lifetime, so therefore when we are home he is in zipper pajamas that he can't get into--YET!!

Life

On the first day, God created the dog and said:

'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.'

The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?'

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said:

'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.'

The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?'

And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said:

'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.'

The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?'

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created man and said:

'Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years.'

But man said: 'Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?'

'Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.'

So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I'm doing it as a public service.
