Better Late Than Never

I decided to get my lazy pregnant butt in gear and post our Halloween pictures, at least it is before Thanksgiving!

We dressed Caleb up in the zombie doctor costume that Holden wore last year. It cracked me up because he was wearing this scary crazy costume and didn't care one bit!
This year Holden chose to be a swamp monster, it was pretty scary

This little Tinkerbell, a.k.a Bailey was scared to death of him

How lucky is Holden to have such a talented father, yes he used a pattern, but mine would not have turned out like that even with a pattern!

A Special Day

Last Saturday was a big day for our family, especially for Holden. He was baptised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support by our extended family, and were so grateful they were able to spend this special day with us.

Our feeble attempts to get a family picture. Caleb was especially unhappy about the days happenings and didn't want to participate

HOLY CRAP!!!!!

So how would you all like to wake up on a beautiful Monday morning and see this out your front window!!!! For all my local friends out there you know EXACTLY who's car this is!!!! Unfortunately she completely took out my neighbors beautiful brick mailbox that was just built this summer. But, fortunately for us she did run into the mailbox, otherwise she would have been heading straight for our house!!!

He is the Champion

I know everyone out there is coveting this beautiful trophy with its plastic gold cup on a marble base. Tyler coveted this beauty last year when he got third place in the Hill Climbers Trophy race for his category. But lo and behold last Saturday he pushed himself into having exercise induced asthma to win this baby!! Honestly, it really wasn't about the trophy, this race brings out the best of the best hill climbers in Utah and that is what Tyler is--a hill climber, and he wanted to win, and he achieved that goal!!

A Father's Amazing Love

I shamelessly stole this from my sister in law Jill's blog. I have seen this video before however not with this song. What an inspiration to all. Now if I can just somehow get my hands on a bike like that for Tyler and Caleb...imagine the possibilities.

LOTOJA 2008

Lotoja 2008 is now over and they are looking forward to Lotoja 2009 and helping Kevin get into the 1000 mile club. It was once again a success for them all. The stars aligned for Seth and he recieved a 4th place finish, he deserved it after the last two years. Tyler stayed with the guys--most of the time, won king of the mountain for his category and says it was his most favorite race. After the last feed zone in Alpine, and with only 52 miles to go, Kevin blew a wheel, and Jen raced to the car to get him a new one. Lisa and I raced to our car and I was wondering how the situation had changed and worried that Kevin was then going to have to race to the finish alone. But nothing gave me more pride than seeing that Tyler had sacrificed a top ten finish to stay with Kevin while he fixed his wheel, and then they worked together to the finish. Even with that 15 minute delay they were all able to finish the 206 miles in under 10 hours, that is quite an acomplishment.

Another year, another race already???

Yes folks believe it or not it is Lotoja time again. You know that little 206 mile cycling race from Logan to Jackson Hole all in one day! Tyler's feeling good this year so hopefully he will do well. Wish us luck!

Crossing Political Lines

Whether you are Democratic or Republican, please take a moment to watch this clip. As a fellow mother of a child with special needs it brought joy to my heart, to see someone in the public spotlight choose to face the life of a child with special needs head on, and embrace it. I too feel honored to be Calebs mom as he brings such joy and happiness into my life.

Ripleys Believe It Or Not!

No your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Could this be the reason for my lack of posts lately? I think so. See that little blob in the middle of that big blob? That is baby #3, and as far as the doctor and I could tell ONLY baby #3. I am twelve weeks along and due March 1st. It will be nice to try my hand at just one baby this time around.

The big 10!!

Yesterday Tyler and I celebrated our ten year anniversary!! We celebrated it the night of the 22nd because Tyler and his brothers and dad were leaving early this morning to head out on a backpacking trip. We went to Midway, UT and spent the night in the Blue Boar Inn bed and breakfast. We bought a package that included a ride in a hot air balloon the next morning. We also rented scooters from the hotel. It was a fun relaxing day. Although tiring, to have to be up at 5 to do the hot air balloon, but it was fun and worth it!

Capitol Reef

We spent last weekend in central Utah, for what you may ask? For the Capitol Reef Classic Cycling Race of course. It consisted of a time trial, circut race, and a road race. He did quite well in the first two and through a series of unfortunate events he didn't do so well in the road race, therefore ending up tenth overall. But he really enjoyed the two days of racing. The boys and I hung out at the hotel and Holden played with our friends three girls that had come as well. On Saturday we had to check out of the hotel before they would be done so we drove the kids into Capitol Reef Park and looked at Petroglyhs and went and made sandwiches to eat. Holden had fun playing with the girls and Caleb is a pretty good traveler wherever we go so it all worked out.

Follow the Drinking Gord

Last Saturday Tyler competed in the Porcupine Hill Climb. It is a 14 mile race up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton Ski Resort. He got second place in his category. Too bad we aren't drinkers because he could have had his "trophy" filled with beer. They probably would have filled it with his favorite Dr. Pepper but he didn't ask--of course!!

Lisa Falls

Believe it or not but a mere ten minutes away from our house is a beautiful waterfall. Tyler went on a hike with the YM the week before and wanted to take us there. He said he is constantly amazed at all the new things there are to discover in Utah.

The hike up was a little crazy with lots of rocks to climb over
Tyler being the awesome dad he is carried Caleb up on his back

But the view was worth it!

Tyler and Holden hiked up to the falls that are even higher up
